Andy Davis
Vice President of Education and Capacity Building
Andy Davis joined Georgetown Health Foundation in January 2024 as Vice President of Education and Capacity Building, bringing more than 25 years of nonprofit sector experience to the role. In this position, Andy leads the Foundation’s efforts to develop and deliver educational initiatives and capacity-building strategies that strengthen the nonprofit ecosystem in Georgetown and across Williamson County. He also plays a key role in cultivating collaborative networks that help GHF identify where its resources can have the most significant impact.
Before joining GHF, Andy served for 15 years at BoardSource—the nation’s leading organization focused on nonprofit governance—most recently as Associate Vice President of Education and Outreach. During his tenure, he helped shape national conversations around board leadership and effectiveness. He was instrumental in developing two of BoardSource’s most influential frameworks: Purpose Driven Board Leadership and Measuring Fundraising Effectiveness. He also co-created and co-led the Certificate of Nonprofit Board Consulting, which has trained more than 1,000 nonprofit consultants nationwide. Andy is a frequent speaker on board governance and leadership topics and remains an active contributor to the nonprofit community. He currently serves as Board Chair of Our Minds Matter, a youth mental health nonprofit based in Washington, DC. His past service includes chairing the national advisory council of AmeriCorps Alums and serving as a charter member of the Center for Nonprofit Advancement’s Board Leadership Awards.
He holds a master’s degree in public administration with a concentration in nonprofit management from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, where he also previously served as the professional development coordinator for Quality Enhancement for Nonprofit Organizations (QENO).
