Karen returned to Georgetown in 2004 after almost 40 years in the banking industry. Karen retired as a Regional Executive of Bank of America Private Bank. Her areas of responsibility included Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico.
During her banking career in Houston, she served on several boards. She was President of the Houston Estate and Financial Forum, President of the Houston Estate Planning Council, and an officer of the Texas Bankers Association. She served as Chairman of the Trust Division of the Texas Bankers Association. Texas Executive Women selected her as one of the outstanding women business leaders in Houston.
Since her return to Georgetown, Karen has been Chairman of the Chisholm Trail Communities Foundation and currently serves on the Board of Directors of the following organizations: Lone Star Circle of Care, Chisholm Trail Communities Foundation, Boys and Girls Club, Williamson County Coordinated Child Care, and Seeds of Strength, a Women’s Giving Circle.
Karen has a B.A. degree from Baylor University, a J.D. degree from the University of Texas School of Law, and a Thesis with distinction from SMU Graduate School of Banking.
